Fallen in Love by Lauren Kate Review

This book is an 'inbetweeny' in the Fallen series by Lauren Kate.
It is the book the is told from other peoples perspectives when chasing Luce through time.
There are some romantic aspects to this book as you can probably tell from the title. It was not the romance that turned me off this book. It was the constant reminder that it was set around valentines day. It gave the whole book a cheap feel. Not because it was on valentines day , but because of the way it was portrayed in a way that made it obvious, that the book was created with the sole purpose of making a profit on valentines day.
To be completely honest there wasn't much that happened in this book that moved the plot along and this book is not entirely a must read to carry on the series.
As far as i can tell the history element is valid, but I'm not a historian so don't hold me to that.
It still has Lauren Kate's same writing style, nothing has changed about that which is good for me because i can't stand it when an authors writing style changes completely in the middle of a series. Definitely a pet peeve of mine.
For these reasons i gave this book a 4 i think on Goodreads because i do love her writing style, she is one of my Auto-buy authors and i appreciate all of her works.
I do not recommend this book to you, however, if the only reason you are going to buy it is because you want to carry on the series, seriously , go straight to Rapture. But if you like all that mushy stuff then this will be quite a nice read for you.

David Levithan, the realm of possibility Review, no spoilers

I borrowed this  book from  friend when i was bored one day, not realising that it was written by David Levithan.
This was an extremely quick read but i found it quite hard to keep up with what was going on at times. Not that the story is confusing as such but more because it is broken up by very cryptic poetry.

This is a story that embraces the teenage mindset and is told from a variety of characters point of view throughout the book. It explores how people use their exterior to put up a front to protect themselves but in reality they are all just as vulnerable as each other . I think that this is a good message to send to young people, because i know from my school days that it can be quite lonely having to pretend to be somebody else, in order to either keep friends or protect yourself from other peoples view points.
It also looks at issues such as self confidence and how everybody suffers with insecurity about something.
I probably would not reread this book, as it does remind me about a lot of things from school that i would rather forget and it is quite hard for me to follow, this is why i gave it a 3 on Goodreads. If that isn't something you are to bothered about or you are a young person in school this book will be an interesting read for you so i do recommend it.
